About this product

Dolls 4 Tibet is a social and micro enterprise based in northern India that works with displaced Tibetan refugee and local Himachali women inside the Tibetan exiled community in Himachal Pradesh, India. Through the art of doll making, this grassroots initiative aims to create the provision of economic opportunities for self sufficiency and women’s empowerment amongst its doll makers. Alongside these goals the dolls workshop seeks to train, empower and create meaningful employment and to promote and encourage cross-cultural understanding, social integration and harmony from within its workshop and outwards to the broader community.

All products created in the workshop are aligned with the Waldorf Steiner philosophy which believes that children’s toys are best created when gentle on the child’s senses. Each product is made predominantly of natural materials, have beautiful features and are soft to touch. Natural materials are believed to provide a connection to the natural world which is the foundation of the Steiner education cycle and of rooting a child into the reality of life here on earth.
